Summer Vacation Slow Down - Time Management Tips

We're back from vacation and company has left, but that doesn't mean I have all the time I would like to work on building my Coastal Vacations business.

You see, my kids are home from school for summer vacation - which is wonderful - but, if you are hard-working and success-driven, as I am, it remains a constant battle to find the time to do everything you want to do, both with work and with the family.

Now, I am the last person from whom anyone should take time-management tips, but this is how I am managing the familiy/work balance for the summer.

First and foremost, having the use of the Coastal Vacations Call Center is such a blessing in the summer when the kids are home.   I know that if I have a prospect that needs to have questions answered, they can get that anytime from the Call Center, while I am tending to the needs of my family.

This is even more important when the kids are back in school because it is very important to me not to have to be on the phone in the evening - that's family time.  When a prospect needs to speak to someone in the evening, it is great to know that the staff at the Call Center is there to answer questions, process payments and ship packages.  What a time saver for those of us with full-time jobs or children at home!

During the summer, I spend less time on time-consuming, repetitive internet marketing tasks such as posting on forums and online classifieds, and more time on singular tasks that have a long-lasting impact on marketing my Coastal Vacations business online.  Writing and submitting an article,  posting on this blog and undating my Coastal Vacations Call Center Squidoo lens are all short tasks that will pay off in the long run towards increasing my web presence.

My goal in the summer is often to complete one marketing task per day.  It doesn't sound like much but since there are some days when I get nothing done, accomplishing at least one item from my 'to-do' list gives me a sense of achievement - and frees my mind to fully participate in summer activities with my children - mind, body and soul.

Although at times I worry that I am not working as much as I 'should' be,  I am certain that my kids and hubby are happy to have a mommy and wife who is not glued to the telephone or the computer all day long.  Afterall, just a few more weeks and they will be back in school again.  Another summer gone.  Another school year beginning.  Another year closer to my kids leaving home.   Time is so fleeting - how grateful I am to be able to be home with my children during these precious years.

My daily task is now complete and I am off to the zoo with my kids.   I hope today is YOUR best day ever!
