Article Writing Tips of the Travel Trade

In the world of online marketing, driving traffic to your travel site is the ultimate goal. There are many ways to do this; however, article writing may be one of the best and fastest ways of achieving website traffic – from both search engines and people.

A well written article will spark the curiosity of consumers, and more often than not, they will visit your website just to see what all the fuss is about. Plus other webmasters will link up when they post your articles with links in the body or byline on their own websites and in their online ezines. An added benefit besides getting links and readers is achieving higher rank among search engine listings, also helping draw more attention and traffic to your site.

But article writing needs to be good, for both website spiders and human readers. Here are some helpful tips:

1) You can write the articles yourself or hire someone to write them. The important thing to remember is that they need to be clear, concise and relevant to your products and services.

2) You can have a hundred articles on your site; however if they are filled with useless information, you are condemning your website to failure. Instead, a few well written to-the-point articles will do much better. Follow writers’ guidelines found in freelance writing books and magazines like Writer’s Digest to assist you in writing the perfect articles for your website.

3) Using keywords and keyword phrases will allow search engine spiders to find the keywords and display your link. Make sure you use the keywords or phrases enough times so that the spiders will recognize them. This is called keyword density and it is one of the most critical aspects of article writing for advertising. The right amount of keyword density is between ten and fifteen percent. If you use keywords too much, it is called keyword stuffing and the spiders will disregard your article.

4) You can use a press release type article or a review style, as long as you use the right keyword and keyword phrases.

5) The content of your article must be able to capture the reader attention. Having the right keyword will be of little consequence if your readers are not interested in the article content. So the article must also be interesting and well written in order for the reader to continue to your website. It is absolutely critical that the spelling and grammar be correct in your article. There is no better way to fail than having misspelled words and sloppy grammar. Most writing programs today offer spell and word check as well as a grammar check. Use them.

6) If you plan to submit your articles to ezines and directories, it is very important that you place links in it that will revert back to your website. When a consumer reads your article and wants to find out more information he or she will click the link. If you do not have the links in place, you have defeated the purpose for writing the article to begin with.

So take time to add article writing to your marketing efforts. Write about your business and bring traffic to your site to get successful results!
